Jamaican students awarded for outstanding CXC performances

Seven Jamaican students were honoured for their outstanding performances in this year’s sitting of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE).  

The students were given the awards by the Caribbean Examination Council for having achieved the highest grades in particular subjects. 

In the CSEC exams, Adrian Kellyman from Seaforth High School received the award for most outstanding in Visual Arts 2-dimensional work, She’niele Grant of Wolmers Girls’ for most outstanding in Business Education and Avala Bennett of Ardenne High most outstanding in Humanities.        

And the four awardees in the CAPE exam were Sharlayne Waller of Campion College who received the award for most outstanding in Natural Sciences and Aston Hamilton also of Campion College for most outstanding in Information and Communication Technology.

Andre Sargent of Adenne High was most outstanding peformance in Technical Studies and Andre Bascoe of Campion College received the most outstanding in Modern Languages award.  

The students were recognized at a ceremony hosted by the Caribbean Examination Council earlier this month in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
